Chatbots can be used for all sorts of activities. They all have similar attributes:
- You can speak English or 100 different languages to them
- They will reply also using a natural language
- They have a knowledgebase from which they get their information
- In all cases the Chatbot can give "intelligent" answers to natural language questions if the answer is in the knowledgebase
Types of Chatbots
A Chatbot can be a simple Chatbot which is trained on a small knowledgebase and acts as an expert on that topic. It could contain a lot of information, have a big knowledgebase
Examples of Chatbots
Specialised Chatbots
A Chatbot for Human Resources to answer employees questions
A Chatbot to explain a company share scheme
A Chatbot that helps configure a TV screen
A Chatbot that helps answer questions about an on-line training system
A Chatbot that answers question about pet accessories and dog food
Larger Chatbots A Chatbot that contains a huge database
Complex Chatbots Chatbots can not only be used to answer questions from a knowledgebase. They can for example be used to interview staff or gather more information. Some can get very complicated, but always easy to use
What's wrong with a normal website, document or a procedures manual?
It's a lot easier to get answers when you can type or even speak English. If you have to use the old-fashioned search features of websites, you are likey to get no information unless you know the exact terms and phrases that the website or document or procedure manual uses.
A Chatbot specializes in understanding the question and giving a simple correct answer.
In any event if some of your knowledge base is not on a website you cannot use a search feature to find information. Much company information is stored in folders on file servers in the cloud, or emails. Unless you know where to look you won't easily find the desired information

What if the Chatbot does not know the answer to my question?
The reality is Chatbots will never know all the answers. Included in our service the monitoring of all questions asked and as soon as a question is asked that the Chatbot cannot answer, we ask you, the expert, to give us the answer, which we supply to the Chatbot. This is a quick process and could take as little as 20 minutes.
Over time, from a couple of days to months, the Chatbot will be given more and more information to be able to answer more and more questions. The number of questinos that it does not know the answer to will decrease because we continualy add answer to questions.
How does it benefit you?
Simple! You, your staff and your customers get answers to questions faster that any other method. You use normal, standard natural English to ask and you get an answer instantly.
Sounds Interesting. How much does it cost?
Costs obviously depend on the complexity of the system, the size of the knowledgebase and the number of questions that are asked. As an example some simple Chatbots can be implemented for less than R2000 per month.Other complex Chatbots can cost many hundreds of thousands of Rands
